Risa Alyson Strauss
Program Director
Risa
Alyson Strauss is a passionate educator, environmentalist, and aspiring
farmer! Risa completed her B.A. (Hons) at Queen’s University in Comparative
Religious Studies, and her M.A. at the Centre for the Study of Religion (U
of T), focusing on Contemporary Jewish Environmental Ethics. Upon
graduating, Risa began working for the Teva Learning
Center as a Jewish
environmental educator and Wilderness Programs Coordinator. In 2007, Risa
was the Program Specialist for the Children’s
Garden and Exploring Toronto Programs, developing children’s gardens
at community centres and parks throughout the city. Risa recently completed
the Adamah
Jewish Farming Fellowship and
believes that growing food sustainably is an expression of her deeply-rooted
Jewish ethics. |
