Kavanah Organic Community Teaching Garden
Torat HaTeva is thrilled to announce the
creation of the Kavanah Organic Community Teaching Garden at the
Joseph and Wolf Lebovic Jewish Community Campus in the City of Vaughan!
Beginning Spring 2009, we will be offering hands-on, educational workshops
to school groups, congregational groups, and community organizations.

This project will
unearth the rich ecological wisdom of our Jewish heritage, helping us
understand what it means to be responsible stewards of Creation. |

The project will consist of several
features, including:
*In-ground vegetable, herb, and flower
garden beds
*Raised wheelchair-accessible garden
beds
*Butterfly garden
*Compost demonstration site
*Outdoor classroom
*Greenhouse

As well, a portion of the land running
alongside the garden will be planted with native plants, shrubs, and trees,
which will attract various insects, birds, and animals to the site.
