Kavanah Organic Community Teaching Garden – Site Dedication Ceremony
Sunday, May18th, 2008
Despite the wind and the rain, over 50 community members came out to
celebrate the dedication of the Kavanah Organic Community Teaching Garden at
the Joseph and Wolf Lebovic Jewish Community Campus on Sunday, May 18th,
2008.
In attendance at Sunday’s event were Ms. Susan Kadis (MP Thornhill), Mayor
Linda D. Jackson (City of Vaughan) and Councilor Alan Shefman (Ward 5, City
of Vaughan). As well, the UJA Federation was represented by the Centre for
Enhancement of Jewish Education (Mercaz) and the Schwartz/Reisman Centre,
both of which are working with Torat HaTeva to offer school and community
programs on-site beginning next year.
